Kristen's Reflection

The steps leading up to creating the final project of Project Citizen has taught me so much about policy making and the process which has to be done in order for an average citizen to play an active role in our state government. I realized that you do not have to be a state legislator in order to make a change within the state government. 

 Before I started on this project, I myself was unaware of the abortion policies in New Jersey. Doing this project has opened my eyes to blurring the lines between strictly pro-life and strictly pro-choice. It has made me realize that so many people are not aware of the very liberal policies in New Jersey and that there is so much to be done without offending the opinions of those who identify themselves as pro-life or pro-choice. 

During this project I have also learned the value of working with a group in order to achieve a common goal. Within my group there was nobody who did less than expected and because of this we were able to do what was, in my opinion, above satisfactory work. I am very glad that I now realize the part that I can play in government.
